The panel owned by Laia Bosch depicting the relatively rare theme of the "Miracle of the Snow", can be identified as yet another panel of the documented altarpiece painted by Martín Bernat and Bartolomé Bermejo for the Visitation Chapel in El Pilar, Saragossa, between 1479 and 1484. The significance of the panel's iconography is its connection with both El Pilar and its companion church, the Cathedral of Saragossa, also called "Santa María la Mayor", which in turn referred to the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, whose founding is associated with a miraculous snowfall.
