ABOUT ICONOGRAPHIC MODELS DISSEMINATION. FROM MICHELANGELO TO JUAN DE ANCHIETA

JESÚS MARÍA GONZÁLEZ DE ZÁRATE

This is to be appreciated in the work of Juan de Anchieta, one of the most important artists of the so called "Romanism". This essay gives evidence of a carving destined to St Michael's Church in Vitoria and offers its graphic model precisely through the engravings by Ghisi / Scultori, who greatly collaborated to a widespread knowledge of the pictorial aesthetic of Michelangelo and his followers.
