PARODY AND TIME IN POSTMODERN ART MÓNICA YOLDI |
|
Appropriation and quotation are a constant in Art History. The approach to the Art from the Past, which is made from the Present, can be done as homage or as a critic. In Postmodernity, this is clear in the work of artists like David Salle, Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter or Cindy Sherman, who use resources as parody or pastiche in order to reflect on artistic questions like originality or creativity and to analyse everyday life. |
